Nancy Armikhanian is a Registered Psychotherapist at Family TLC. Ms. Amirkhanian received her bachelors degree from York University in 2005 and went on to complete her masters in counselling psychology from The Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. Ms. Amirkhanian also obtained a diploma as an Addictions Case Worker from McMaster University. She is also a member of the College for Registered Psychotherapists. Her psychotherapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, emotion focused therapy, and training in dialectical behavioural therapy. She has 10 years of experience as a rehabilitation consultant working with individuals who have been involved in motor vehicle accidents, including those who have suffered catastrophic injuries. The focus of her interest has been specifically on the rehabilitation of individuals with traumatic brain injuries and mental health diagnosis and / or addictions.

Elizabeth Sulima is a Registered Social Worker. She completed her Masters of Social Work at the University of Toronto and has spent the last three years working with youth and teens and their families. Her past work also includes working within the elementary school system with a focus on learning disabilities, research in learning and development in child populations, and supporting patients throughout chronic illness. Elizabeth’s current work at Family TLC focuses mostly on collaborating with individuals and couples (11 years or older) in reaching their individualized goals by integrating evidence based techniques such as mindfulness, DBT, SFBT, attachment, and relational based therapies.

Olivia Stewart is a student intern at Family TLC. She is in the process of completing a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Olivia holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Toronto. She is also a recreation therapist, having completed a post-graduate certificate in Therapeutic Recreation from Georgian College.

Ilan Strauch is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and counsellor at Family TLC. He holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree that he earned from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois. He also holds two undergraduate degrees, a specialized Honours Bachelor of Arts with a major in psychology, and a Bachelor of Education degree, both from York University in Toronto.
Ilan’s practice focuses mostly on individuals and couples. For over a decade, he has assisted people as they navigate the stress of life and the negative impact of that stress, ranging from depression and anxieties to relationship difficulties and various responses to trauma.

William Stanus has completed his Masters of Counselling Psychology degree from Trinity Western University (in British Columbia). A native of Ontario, William spent several years on the west coast in Master’s studies before returning to Ontario. During that time he had the opportunity to intern at Fraser River Counselling in Abbotsford, and then here in Barrie at Family TLC.

Sue Cook is the owner and operator of Family TLC Family Therapy and Life Coaching Group. Family TLC consists of psychotherapists, social workers, family therapists and coaches who help children, teenagers, couples and families through the transitions and lessons of life utilizing principles of compassion, respect and courage.
Sue started working in this profession in the early 1980s and has had the opportunity and privilege of assisting thousands of people. She has experience in the public sector working in education, non-profit and government agencies. She has run her own private practice since 2000 and expanded in 2007, inviting others to join her business.
