PTSD
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is a condition that affects workers in many occupations. Some of those most impacted by PTSD are front line workers: police officers, fire fighters, paramedics, and military personnel, as well as mental health professionals. Statistics suggest that it’s occurrence in these (and other) fields is on the rise.
Symptoms of PTSD include:
- Disturbed sleep (e.g.nightmares)
- Irritability and anxiety
- Difficulty with concentration
- Bodily disturbances (e.g. upset stomach, high blood pressure)
- Intrusive thoughts and images
