Nathan Little is Registered Social Worker at Family TLC. Nathan received his bachelor’s degree from Acadia University in 2014 with honours in both psychology and sociology before completing his master’s degree in social work from the University of British Columbia Okanagan. He began his social work experience with internships in both an inpatient addictions facility and hospital setting. He then worked in the field of geriatric mental health before transitioning to addictions counselling where Nathan worked as an inpatient therapist before joining the Family TLC team. During this time, he was exposed to a wide demographic of people motivated to improve in areas of life such as, but not limited to, coping skills for anxiety and depression, emotional regulation, distorted thinking, relationships and self-awareness. Scope of practice includes individual, adult counselling of anyone who is 18 years of age or older. His passion lies within mental health and the restoration of mutually beneficial interactions between clients and their social environment. Nathan implements a strengths-based approach within his practice while utilizing components of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Nathan was born and raised in the city of Barrie and is excited to provide a positive counselling experience to the community that helped shape him as an individual. In his personal time he enjoys playing and watching hockey, as well as spending time by the water.
