Courtney Firetto is a registered social worker with Family TLC- Family Therapy and Life Coaching. In addition Courtney holds a Master of Social Work with an undergraduate degree and a graduate degree in social work with Lakehead University.
Much of Courtney’s experience has been in community mental health focus. Prior to joining the Family TLC team, Courtney has worked and built a variety of experiences as a crisis support worker at the Canadian Mental Health Association. Courtney also completed a student placement in the Early Psychosis Intervention Program with the Canadian Mental Health Association. Through the Psychosis Intervention program, Courtney has worked with a diverse array of clients, such as, children and the elderly. Courtney currently offers services to individuals, children, and families. Her primary area of interest includes child and adult mental health.
Some of the therapeutic modalities that Courtney uses in her practice includes cognitive-behavioral therapy, strengths-based therapy, motivational interviewing, as well as psycho dynamic psychotherapy. Courtney prides herself on being a generalist practitioner; therefore is willing to incorporate other therapies to best suit client needs. While Courtney’s experience has primarily been with children, youth, and parents and the elderly, she is eager to grow her knowledge and skill set through also supporting adults and couples in our growing community.
