Julie Larche is a Registered Psychotherapist at Family TLC in Barrie. She holds a Masters in Counselling Psychology and an Hons. B.A. in Sociology as well as a Grad Certificate in Human Resources. As part of the Family TLC, She is passionate about working with individuals (children, teens and adults) and couples. Julie has a core belief in people and a passion for mental health and wellness. That coupled with 15 years of experience working collaboratively with people helps me to bring a breadth of professional experience to her clients. She strongly believes that empirically supported forms of psychotherapy, coupled with openness, trust and empathetic support is an effective approach to the challenges and stresses people deal with in their daily lives.
It takes great courage to seek support. Julie has a warm and gentle approach and believes in working towards collaborative treatment plans with my clients that are tailored to their therapeutic goals. Research shows that talking to someone who is open and non-judgmental helps. Talking with a neutral, trained professional will add to these benefits. Fostering self-compassion and acceptance is a cornerstone to the work that she does. Additionally, Julie believes that bringing awareness to our thoughts, feelings, and behaviour patterns can bring greater clarity and peace in our lives
Julie specializes in seeing clients with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, perfectionism, body-image issues, grief and difficult life circumstances. She works with children (ages eight and up) on similar issues as well as emotional regulation. In addition, Julie is a prepare enrich couples counsellor, and is passionate about helping couples work through a variety of issues as well as improve communication, conflict resolution skills, and fractures in trust.

Julie personally practices mindfulness and acceptance in her daily life. Outside of the office she loves to spend time with her partner, young son and their family dog Nova. In her spare time she loves to cook, read and ride her bike.
