Ilan Strauch is a Registered Psychotherapist at Family TLC. He holds a Master of Arts degree in counseling psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois. He also has two Bachelor of Arts degrees, both from York University in Toronto: a specialized Honours Bachelor of Arts with a major in psychology, and a Bachelor of Education. Ilan is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and is a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP).
Ilan also is a Clinical Supervisor with Family TLC. He has completed Basics of Clinical Supervision, a course that was designed and curated by Dr. Jeff Chang, Psychologist, in Calgary, Alberta, and which is approved by the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta.
Ilan works with individuals, couples, and families. For about 15 years, he has assisted people as they navigate the stress of life and the impact of that stress, ranging from depression and anxieties to relationship difficulties and various responses to trauma.
Grounded in Adlerian theory, Ilan’s therapeutic work is informed by a number of approaches, modalities, and methods. These include emotion-focused therapy, mindfulness, cognitive-behaviour therapy, psychodynamic, systems, and artistic approaches. His work with clients is based on mutual respect, is non-judgmental and collaborative, and it takes into account all aspects of a person’s life and well-being.
