We admire those who can be confident and determined, but also self-aware and capable of demonstrating humility.
After completing my Masters degree in Social Work I began my career at a longterm care facility. From there I wanted something more permanent leading me to eventually join an inpatient addictions facility. I stumbled upon an opportunity to join the Family TLC team in March of 2019 and wanted to give private practice counselling a try. Looking back at the first 6 months at Family TLC and comparing it to the 2 years prior experience I received in the field, I feel that I have had greater professional development within those 6 months then the 2 previous years combined.
Supervision and growth opportunities are priorities of mine. The supervision offered, along with the 1 year training program have truly helped me further develop my skills. Having access to other professionals and a library full of resources makes me feel as though there is an encyclopedia of knowledge at my fingertips.
Having a healthy work-life balance is something I’ve always strived for. I can tailor my schedule around my clients, but also what works best for me and my current lifestyle.
I believe having the ability to speak openly about what is and isn’t working from an individual standpoint as well as employee standpoint is really valued.
I feel incredibly lucky to come to work every day knowing I am working towards helping make my client’s lives better.
